We know that condo living is green living, but in Japan they are taking that to a whole new level.  There is a new condominium complex going in an Osaka suburb that is going to generate its own electricity for the residents.  When complete,  351-unit development will have a 170kw solar power system installed on the roof which should generate enough power to supply 38 of the units with electricity.  Those units will, of course, cost more but in the long run owners should be able to recoup their costs.

We hope this is a trend that catches on in North America.   Just think of how much electricity could be generated by all those condos in Las Vegas and Phoenix!
